My deepest condolences to David and the family of Ruth . Ruth the sweetest person to everyone that knew her. She was so very kind and caring and had the biggest heart. I have so many wonderful memories of Ruth, from when we first met in 1978 at Rodney Sea cadet unit. She was a volunteer from the Army reserves and later she enrolled in the CIL. Many many years as an Officer and mentor to cadets and young officers. HMCS Acadia was her second home every summer. Arriving with her large trunk full of her crafting items and the famous skeleton she would use as a teaching aid for first aid .Ruth ,also known as Nanny Wade would make Christmas Gifts in July and place them on the bunks at HMCS Acadia . She would also have gifts for all the cadets and Staff at our units Christmas Mess dinners. That was always a highlight to Cadets and staff . I still have quite a few of her decorations she gave me over the years .Ruth served at 9 Rodney, 268 Bras d'Or, 311 Halifax, 140 Peninsula Army cadets and Sussex Army Cadets. She will be missed. Rest in Peace Ruth we have the watch .

Nanny Wade was a wonderful human who was a safe space for many teenagers and young adults throughout her time with the cadet program. She helped many through their first night's away from home, supported many through first break ups and crushes. She was loving when we needed her to be, strict when we needed it, making sure we always used good table manners. She spread so much awesome into this world. Her legacy will live on in all that knew her for many years to come.
Sincerest condolences to her family and close friends. Thank you for sharing her with so many

Ruth was an amazing teacher. She always had so much patience when it came to teaching her kids. She would take extra time to make sure that you were comfortable and understood. Her teaching and patience is why I believe to this day that I am so calm in a crisis. I learned from her that you just need to take a moment and think things through, what is the next thing you need to do. She will be missed and fondly remembered. Her teachings will live on as we impart her values to those who come after.
