I first met Ken when he was living in the same apartment building as my wife and I long before I started working at Canada Post. I remember Ken as a hard working and dedicated union activist at all levels of the union from his local to the national executive board. I also remember his love of music. I still have tapes of things he made for us. Colin is right,
he had a great sense of humour, and he often brightened my day when I needed it most.

It was very sad to hear of Ken's passing. I worked with Ken a lot during the time that both of us spent with CUPW. He was particularly skilled at grievance and arbitration work, and was generous with his knowledge in that area. Despite numerous health problems over the years, he persevered, always prioritizing work for the members that he was elected to serve I will remember his quiet but excellent sense of humour. Condolences to Susan and the rest of his family.

Ken made many people feel special including our grandkids. When they took a table at the GM Farmers Market to sell their cookies, buns or painted shells, Ken was sure to make a “memorable “ purchase…to their lasting delight!
We are so fortunate to have known Ken and will miss our roadside chats.

As a lifetime BFF of Ken's sister, Diane, I can say I knew Ken way back, when we were in highschool together in the small prairie town of Eston, Sask. He was a shy, quiet young man, with a sharp mind and a quick witty sense of humour. I kept up on the news of Ken's life through Diane, and now sadly, have learned the news of his passing. The world has lost a good man! My sympathy goes out to his family and other friends.

Susan and family
I am so very sorry for your loss, a loss suffered by many across this island community.
Thankfully, because of Thrifty's and the Rotary Club's kind and generous support of Thrifty's, I had the privilege of getting to know both you and Ken .Otherwise, I would never have experienced the friendship I have enjoyed in recent months. Ken's devotion to Thrifty's and his work ethic were second to none. His kind, quiet, gentle, humble spirit impacted me greatly. I will always be grateful for treats of fresh vegetables and Ken's delicious zuchinni bread that I often found in my entry. Thankfully, our connection did not end when our tenure at Thrifty's was over. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days ahead.
