My deepest condolences to Mia and the Flood Family for the way-too-soon passing of such a brilliantly wonderful human being. I was fortunate to have met Laurie years ago when I was the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls and she was the ED of BBBS. She was so generous with her time, experience, resources, wisdom, knowledge and energy on behalf of the betterment of children and youth. It was an honour to collaborate with her on projects. Laurie will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her - our lives are richer because of her. Rest In Peace.

I'm so sad to hear of Laurie's passing. Some people seem immortal and this will be true of Laurie. She was selfless, funny, kind and genuine. You don't often come across that in your lifetime. We shared many laughs all those years ago in the Waterloo Street building. I saw her again probably 3 years ago in Costco and it was as if no passage of time existed - we shared a few more laughs. My most heartfelt condolences to her family and everyone who knew her. This is an immeasurable loss

I send all of the Flood family my most sincere condolences. I will remember Laurie for her friendliness, constant smile and tireless work ethic. While working in the Geriatric Medicine program at St. Joe’s I had the honour to be a member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation for several years and her professionalism, dedication and imagination helped to change the lives of many in the Saint John community. I will never forget the smiles on our patient’s faces when the Foundation, with the help of Santa, delivered presents to our patient’s in the hospital. Little things like that. But there were big things too, like the fantastic renovation to the CAM Unit. The hospital would not have been what it is without her. Her legacy will live on. Thank you Laurie.

Bill and I were so saddened to hear of Laurie's passing. She was one of the most caring, amazing persons we have ever met. She encouraged us to not only become a "big couple" but eventually to serve on the board with her for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Best of all we were so proud to call her a "friend". We used to chuckle when she mentioned her sister Claire (I also have a sister Claire) "Dooley" which is also my maiden name. We decided we were destined to meet. I believe the happiest I ever saw Laurie was when she was with her beautiful daughter, Mia. You could not have found a prouder mother ever! She will be missed by many!

Dear Flood Family; I was very saddened to hear of Laurie’s passing. I was blessed with the opportunity to meet & work with Laurie on an annual golf day at Hampton. Our ladies group choose St Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Wellness to make our donation. I loved visiting Laurie to give her the cheques. I was proud to give her our first donation cheque of $400 but she was so thankful for that, and not only did our event grow but so did the donations over $5000. Laurie loved being part of our day as she asked how do I get in on the fun and I know I could get others to come. We laughed and away she came the following year along with others from the foundation and hospital to enjoy and participate in such a worthy cause. When I dropped in, she always made time & we would just laugh and chat about life and sports. Laurie truly was a ray of sunshine wth her smile anytime we connected. Mia, your Mom spoke very highly of you and was extremely proud of you. My sincere condolences to all Laurie’s family and may your many treasured memories help ease your pain at this difficult time. To Laurie's family....I work at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Food Service dept. and as such had contact with Laurie when she needed any food/beverages for events she had planned. To say I am shocked would be an understatement. I knew she was sick but had no idea the severity of it. The Foundation will not be the same without her. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to her entire family. She will be missed. RIP Laurie...an angel on earth ... now an angel in heaven.
