Obituary of Eva Margaret Rector
While we celebrate a life well lived; we grieve for the passing of Eva M. Rector, wife to the late G. William (Bill) Rector, which occurred on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Parkland Shannex. Born on March 10, 1925 in Birmingham, England, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Berry) Grafton.
Eva left school at the age of 14 to work during WWII building bombs to help her family. She came to Canada as a War Bride and was married to Bill for 63 years before his passing.
Eva will be dearly missed by her children: Girvan (Dorothy), Clifton (Linda), Wayne and Pauline Dunham, her grandchildren: Tara, Marc, Jason, Krista, great grandchildren: Brayden, Benjamin, Claire and Elise, her siblings: Albert, Betty and Mary along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.
Besides her parents and husband, Eva was predeceased by her sisters Iris and Lillian.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). The family will be honouring Eva’s wishes that all services remain private. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
