Mandy and other family members, Sheila was a great person ,everyone loved her, and when I say everyone I mean everyone who knew her ,whether a passing acquaintance or someone she knew for years. She treated everyone the same, with love and respect ! I have known Sheila for many years and when you didn't see her for a while and you happened to see her somewhere it was like you just seen her yesterday. She would always greet you with a hug and a smile, and she would always take a minute to chat and catch up. They say God puts people in your life for a reason, and Sheila kept popping up in mine . Family camp, moms and tots( at Saint Andrews and Saint David Church), School ,on a spiritual adventure to make dream catchers and have them blessed by her, and of course seeing her at Julius Pizza. Sheila, will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. See you again my friend!
Sorry so late in sending this as I was looking for someone else and just happened to see her obituary.

To Sheila's family, please accept my deepest sympathy. I first meet Sheila years ago while living on Germain Street and attending St. Andrew and St. David United Church. Having moved to another part of the city a few years back, I didn't see her as often but we kept in touch. She was a kind and generous soul- a true friend to all who knew her.
Almost a year ago to the day, I contacted Sheila on behalf of an Ojibway friend, who had suffered a sudden brain aneurism, to request "spirit" for her healing. Within a few hours, Sheila responded that her prayer chain of native people were praying and they continued to do so for three days.
It was a privilege and honour to have know your mother. My prayers are with you.

Mandy,
It is so hard to wrap our heads around Sheila being gone. She seemed to always be young and active and such a vibrant part of the community.
She had so many interests and causes but her favorite topic of conversation and her greatest source of pride and joy was her children and grandchildren. We loved hearing of their latest accomplishments and milestones.
Please take care of each other.

I had the distinct honour and pleasure to meet Sheila at the Safe Spaces and Allyship workshop at UNBSJ. She was a great influencer for good in the greater Saint John area and the entire province of NB. I am thankful for the tremendous work of awareness of indigenous and first nations in Canada. She will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to the family.<3

We were so very sad to hear of Sheila's passing. My windows overlook the steps of the old Church of Saint Andrew and St. David and I can't look out there without remembering her kind face and our many chats sitting on those stairs over the years. That is where we first met, but like many in Saint John, our paths eventually intersected in a variety of ways. Sheila seemed to know everyone in the neighbourhood and everyone who knew her liked and respected her. I only wish I had gotten the chance to know her better. She was a lovely person and I know she will be missed by many people in the South End and far beyond. Rest in peace, dear Sheila.

Mandy, you and your wonderful mom, Sheila, came to my house with my kids when you first moved to Saint John and I gained a sister and friend. Sheila was the best friend to not only me, but to my children. Even now they say you were like a little sister and Sheila was their second mom. Chris will miss their talks uptown. My heart is broken for you and your children. We all love you and grieve with you. Your mum’s light will never dim.
