David and Heather, So sorry to learn about your Dad’s passing. As you know, growing up with you both, Ted was had a big influence on my life. (Mostly good :). From giving me my first job when I was 14 when he managed ES Stephenson’s when they were moving from Doc St. (My Dad made a copy of the cheque and I still have it) through to a number of jobs and experiences through my university years. He was a real mentor, demonstrating to me the value of a solid work ethic, hard work and doing a job well. Attention to detail and cleaning up your job site were also important lessons. I remember one beautiful summer Friday afternoon, I was doing a project at the old jail on King St. East and when I returned to the shop late in the day on the Westside and was unloading the truck, Ted noticed a hammer was missing. He instructed me to return to the job site to fetch the hammer. I could hardly believe he was making me to that at the end of a long week for a $10 hammer. (Particularly as you know we always had another more important big plans on Fridays!). When I returned with it, he had that great grin and laugh, he told me that this was all part of the education. I have never left a site since, without making sure I have all my stuff. Ted, thanks for everything and RIP. Until we meet again,
Steve and Coleen Carson

Heather and David - So sorry to hear about your Dad. Your Mom was a bridesmaid at our wedding along with your Dad which happened to be April 10, 1954. They were married about 2 weeks later if I remember correctly as I was one of their attendants. We had some good times many years ago and fond memories. Take care in these trying times.
