I wanted to pass along condolences to Mrs. McAfee's family. She was Mrs.McAfee to me and not Jean because she taught me grade 10 biology and phys-ed at SJHS in 1975.
She was one of my all time favourite teachers and I remember learning so much about biology from her. She was also very kind and patient with us all. She coached me JV Volleyball and I remember her running the intramural program which became my lunch time go to.
I am sorry to hear her bright, active mind succumbed to Alzheimers. What an insidious disease. From the obituary it looks like she was able to spend quality time with her grandchildren and that is a blessing. My thoughts go out to all her family.

Karen and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your mom's death. She was a wonderful person and I enjoyed her presence while teaching and in the gyms following all the volleyball she watched. She was quite a woman. I hope you find some comfort knowing how much she meant to so many people throughout her life.

I have known Jean as long as I can remember. After joining in Moncton youth groups I became her colleague in teaching in St. Martins. I shared her classroom and our friendship grew deeper and deeper (usually over a breakfast doughnut!) She was always willing to help in any capacity and went above and beyond the call of duty when my Dad died of Alzheimer's. I rejoice that tonight her body and mind are whole again and she is rejoicing in her heavenly home. You will always miss her but I hope the prayers of her friends and your fond memories will lessen the sorrow.

To Blair, Sue and the girls from your neighbours, the Belyeas:
Our thoughts and prayers go to you folks on the loss of your beloved Jean, whom we have many fine memories of.
The Ragged Point community hasn't been quite the same since she left, and we still miss her cheerful smile and friendship; although we have certainly welcomed your lovely family back as permanent residents. May your warm and wonderful memories of Jean sooth you in the sad times. Blessings to you all...Spencer, Cindy and family.
