Obituary of Jean (Hutcheon) McAfee
It is with great sadness that the family of Jean (Hutcheon) McAfee announces her passing which occurred on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Shannex, Tucker Hall. Born in Moncton, NB, on July 10th, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Edna (Richardson) Hutcheon.
Jean was a lifelong teacher, who retired in 2006. She was a caring and dedicated member of Main Street Baptist Church. There, she faithfully worked behind the scenes, in particular with The Prime Time Program. She was also an active member of the choir. Also known as Gram Gram, she loved spending countless hours with her children and grandchildren, especially at Ragged Point Beach.
Jean is survived by her son, Greg McAfee (Kari); daughters, Susan Clark (Blair) and Karen Betts (Luke); brother, Roy Hutcheon (Michelle); grandchildren, Alyson and Jillian Clark, Drew and Annika Betts, Ivy and Levi McAfee; niece, Ariel and nephew, Nathan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 5-8 PM at RiverCross Church. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM from RiverCross Church.
