John Graham posted a condolence
Wednesday, October 20, 2021
First of all I would like to extend my deepest condolences and prayers to the family.
I wish to share my connection with Mike.
My name is john graham and I met Mike when I was 13. You see I lived in Kennebecasis Park and one summer I had somehow gotten to work( hang out ) at the Irving station at the top of the park. Mike would let me pump gas and imagine I was an employee. To me Mike was superman, he would work on Brutus and share the stories of their latest conquests. i even got to ride in Brutus as drove me home a few times . Mike shared his passion and he ignited the touch inside of me - I knew what I wanted to do, I just didn’t know how to get there. That would take another decade and another gas station.
We soon moved to Ontario and away from that perfect world of washing cars, pumping gas and dreaming about racing with Mike and Brutus…
I have often fondly recounted that summer and the impact it had on me.
Just recently I was nominated to the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame, I wouldn’t have got here without that inspiration and passion Mike had bestowed on me, I have always regarded Mike as the driver that had the most impact on me…. And I’m sorry we never got to race together.
Mike, I thank you for your patience and your passion and a summer that became lifetime.
Rest In Peace
John

Dearest sweet kind Mike. Oh how he liked to joke and play tricks at work. Most of all he loved his fishing and many tales he could spin. He was a family man and cherished his home. Oh how very sad it is to hear of his passing. He was a complete pleasure to work with! To his wife, children, grandchildren and all family members, I am so very sorry for your loss. But, don't worry I am sure there is a nice lake or river in heaven where he will be waiting for everyone he loves! God bless you as you go through this tragedy in life.
Sincerely
Debby Somerville

To the Donovan Family;
The women and men of the Saint John City Police Retired Members Association send our most sincere condolences on the passing of Mike!
Many of us had the pleasure of working with Mike during his career of the "Rothesay Police Force & The Kennebecasis Regional Force"!
ON so many occasions the Rothesay Force and the Saint John Force worked together and in fact, shared off times with Mike as he enjoyed his hobby.
Mike is held in high esteem by all that knew him. We will keep Sgt. Mike and you in our thoughts and prayers.
May he rest in peace.

I would like to send my deepest condolences to Annie, Stephen and Donna on behalf of myself and the rest of the Donovan family. Mike was the twin brother to my father, David; like most twins, those two were thick as thieves. From the stories of the "twin magic" they used to play in school, to fighting/driving their parents nuts, to adulthood where they were always on the water together, those two were not only twins but best buddies.
I have known Mike my entire life, he was a good uncle and I have been very fortunate to spend a quite of time on the water him. I would consider Mike along with my father, to be the pioneers of striped bass fishing in the region. Mike would talk a big game regards to fishing but could always back it. Every week the "twins" would go off on a fishing adventure and there would be some sort of results, usually good ones.
Mike along with my Aunt Annie were very supportive at the end for my father and were a tremendous help. I will always appreciate that.
All I know if Mike ends up the same place with Dave, they will be breaking out the rods and the twins will be fishing together again.
Thanks for every Mike...
Mark Donovan on the behalf of Mark & Mary, Sandra, and Troy, Angela and Clara

So sad to hear of Mikes passing. I worked with him for 10 years. He had a great smile and laugh. It's so true that he loved the outdoors. He used to get garbage bags of old donuts from the local coffee shops for hunting season. He was a great SGT. Deepest condolences to all who knew Mike.

Mike was a friend, mentor and a leader; and always a great story teller. Many good times working together. I remember the very first day that I worked with Mike, I slammed his finger in the police car door. He barely flinched… and then without missing a beat he asked me when I thought I’d get a raise.
May he Rest In Peace.
