So sad to hear of Marlene’s passing. We were childhood friends many years ago in the old north end. We spent the entire day in the paramount theatre watching “A Hard Days Night” over and over again! Don’t know why they didn’t toss us out; but they didn’t! My condolences to her family. Sincerely Debbie (Fulton ) McIntyre.

My heart is heavy because I have lost a cherished childhood friend. Marlene and I lived 2 houses apart on Hawthorne Ave until I was 11. I have fond memories of playing "school" on her back steps, with Marlene as the teacher, of course! The friendship continued beyond that as we spent much time together at St. Paul's Church in the choir and the youth group, and on summer vacations when she joined my family on camping trips to PEI and the US. I have lived away from NB for most of my life and we lost touch for quite awhile. I feel blessed that we reconnected in recent years and that I had the opportunity to visit with her just before the pandemic - we had a wonderful time sharing photos and reminiscences from our youth. I will treasure that memory along with all the other memories we created so many years ago.
My deepest condolences to Carolyn, David and family. She will be greatly missed.

To Mar's family:. On March 13, I lost a very, very dear friend and the sister I never had. We shared many many laughs over many, many years..... and we cried together, too. It is hard to put into words how special she was....to so many. I wrote on numerous greeting cards "What would I do without you?". I will miss her deeply every day. I take comfort in the fact that she is at peace.

I was so very sorry to learn of Marlene's passing. My deepest condolences to all of her family and friends. I remember singing with Marlene many many years ago in the St. Paul's church choir. Marlene was a very dear friend to my father " Norm" and he thought the world of her. I guess now the "Rat Pack" is starting to reassemble and they will all be looking down on us with a smile and will once again enjoy each other's company. Debbie Nickerson
