To our cousins John, Joe, Kris and Paula,
On behalf of my brothers Chris and Mark Kristiansen, my sister Wendy Miller and our mother Donna Kristiansen, we would like to pass along our sincerest condolences on the passing of your mother, our Aunt Elsie. Our father Ralph shared the same birthday as his big sister Elsie (although a 10 year age difference), and this was just a small part of the closeness that they shared as brother and sister. I think the phone calls that they would enjoy on their common birthday was one the things my father looked forward to the most on his birthday celebrations. Our entire family always enjoyed the visits that we had with your mom and dad over the years, and our father Ralph, who had a great sense of humor in his own right, never laughed as hard as he did during our visits with Aunt Elsie and Uncle Jack. We are thinking of you and our Aunt Elsie at this time, and we send our prayers..

As a volunteer at Kingsway Care Center, I treasure the days she would sing with my music program. She taught us to sing
" I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart " with all the actions. I am thankful that I was given her friendship during her time with us, she was a joy to be around. My condolences to her loving family, who she loved so dearly. A life well lived.

My heartfelt and deepest condolences to Paula, Joe, Kris, John and family
It is with deep sorrow that I mourn the loss of my dear Aunt Elsie. My heartfelt sympathy to you, my dear cousins and to your families, during this very difficult time. Your mother was very special to me and I fondly remember our wonderful summer visits to your home. I always looked forward to visiting your family. There was always laughter as your Mom and Dad had a great sense of humor and when they got together with my parents, it was always so much fun. I loved your mother’s stories especially the one where she carried my mom (who was just a young child at the time) to the radio station to have her sing on air. She was always very supportive of my mother’s singing and my mom loved when they would sing together as they both loved music. One of my greatest memories is when I was only 15 years old and your mother invited me to stay with her instead of returning to Halifax with my family. I was so happy when my parents said that I could stay and arrangements were made for me to return by train when my visit was over. I had the greatest experience staying with your family and it has always been one that I have never forgotten and have always cherished!! I fondly remember walking along the banks of the river looking for pottery and treasures with Aunt Elsie. We had great talks and I grew to even love her more! She has always been close to my heart and will be greatly missed!
Please know you that you are very much in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Although no words of mine can ease your loss, I just wanted to let you know that I am grieving with you and thinking about you and holding you up in prayer.
Sending you all of my love,
Charlotte and Joe

My deepest condolences to Paula, John, Joe, Kris and family.
I will always fondly remember our summer visits with Aunt Elsie. Your mother’s expressive nature and funny stories made each visit enjoyable, entertaining and great fun. She was always welcoming and she never missed an opportunity to share her love for family and music with my mother. I watched and listened as the two sisters would laugh, reminisce and sing together. They would sit for hours passionately discussing at length their favourite classical singers and songs. It was a joy to witness.
Your mother was always supportive of my mother’s musical pursuits and mine as well. She even took the time to write me a heartfelt letter to encourage me to forge ahead with my musical composition. That was very kind of her and it meant a lot to me.
I will always remember the good times with Aunt Elsie. She will be missed.

First words when she first met me "are you native?" Then a warm embrace and a story of how she was native too. Elise always had a soft spot for me and her great grandson and I will always be so grateful for her when I thought I had no one that cared. Faithful servant always and together again with her true love. You were and always will be in my thoughts and heart forever. Til we meet again Elsie.

To our family out east: Elsie was an amazing person, funny, caring, loving and most of all always out to tell the truth when it was needed. Her heart and phone calls to Ontario were amazing. Rebekah (Becky) and her boys (James and Jason) were saddened to hear of her passing as much as I was. James and Jason remembered talking to her and meeting her when they were younger. They also remembered the phone calls they had as check ins prior to Uncle Jack passing away. (After hearing she passed, both of the boys cried and were upset. They were hoping to make it down with Rebekah (Becky) this summer to see her) We wish we could be there, but know we are in love and spirit. Give all our love to everyone. Hugs to all and thinking of you during this difficult time. Love: Sue, Becky, James and Jason Kristiansen
